Lovely house in very good condition that belonged to the founder of the Merry Cemetery. It is a short walk from the Merry Cemetery and in my opinion much more enjoyable as it is (unfortunately) less visited and you can actually enjoy the place. At the house we were greeted by the man that actually continues the tradition of making the wodden grave stones for the cemetery today. Definetely worth a visit!

This is definitely a must must place to visit in Maramures! This house is the place where the artist of handcrafted crosses from Merry Cemetery lived and worked. It is very well preserved, with furniture from his lifetime and various objects realised by him. Next to the house you can also visit the workshop where he handcrafted these objects and where Mr. Dumitru Pop Tincu (one of his students) is still keeping his passion and style alive! The tax for entry is for 10 RON for adults and reduced price for children. The house is close to the merry cemetery and you can also order objects there, to be realised by Mr. Dumitru Pop Tincu. I highly recommend this place!!!
